Hypothetical-Space-Session-5-Mahmoud-MAKTABI-Performance-art-webinar-art-talk

We are extending the query that was raised during ‘Room of Thought, which was curated online recently. This is about our general inquiry on TIME; on how it holds the idea of space in performance art, on how we deduce the new hypothesis of possibility and impossibility of the phenomena of live streaming and direction of social, cultural spaces. How we are looking at the period where we are in a transitory phase for transformation.

There’ll be many consequences of the  COVID 19 but one of the major influences shall be on the economy which will have a definite impact on art as well. How will the third world countries deal with this, where we don’t have institutional support systems or even a Museum culture? How do we see these things in the situation of a major breakdown where social structures are bordering close to the basic general human need? When even the basic needs are in question, the totalitarian government of the day is fermenting fear in the public. Cultural theorists, activists, filmmakers are being arrested in this period when the judiciary system is not in a position to or even ready to listen to the cases. In such a situation we have to look at the changes needed in the methodology and the creation and use of the tools. We are questioning the major thread, now in the fear of lockdown and isolation,  which is the Anthropocene and how do we deal with it?

We are looking at the situation and the condition of the world in view of the pandemic, where different norms and sense of spaces are being created and changed. We are in the phase of demolition and of creation at a new scale.
