The exhibition Dear Fractured Stones, brings together a group of artworks exploring the nature of stone as material, as medium, and as metaphor. The exhibition will highlight the theme – (re)collect/(re)connect – one that demonstrates a variety of artistic strategies for repairing and re-establishing connections. Fractured stones can be understood as former parts of larger units whose connections are currently broken. A reparative attitude would thus allow these fragments to come together to form a unit, a whole. Dear Fractured Stones, assembles nine artists from Iran and the Iranian diaspora. Although the presented works combine diverse art practices, they all share visual and content-related references to the themes of collection and archive…
The Global Nomadic Art Project (GNAP, for short) is a project in which Nature Artists from around the world actually meet physically on location in order to work together. It was initiated by the Yatoo group from South Korea, an artistic group active in Nature Art since 1981.
GNAP was founded on the idea that ‘nature has no borders’. It looked at the traditional life of nomads who obtain the bulk of their necessities of life from nature and who leave little trace when leaving. It was desired to better understand the root of human history and culture, and to reveal how creative practice continues to flow through direct contact with nature.
The Yatoo group has planned the Global Nomadic Art Project – Korea almost every year since 2014. Following the 2015 Global Nomadic Art Project in India, the 2016 Global Nomadic Art Projects have been held in South Africa and Iran. A European tour was held in 2017, then GNAP were held in 2018 and 2019 in the UK, Italy, Germany and Mexico.
“The LOCK UNLOCK Performance Art Project originated from the effect of ‘unphysical gatherings’ that emerged out of the global pandemic of COVID-19 in 2020.”
The ongoing project consists of monthly 15-minute active, virtual and simultaneous performance sessions in which 6 Lock Unlock core artists from different world regions are joined by 3 international guest performance artists. The recording of each session begins after a brief welcome and an indication for simultaneous performances to commence.
After viewing the video recording of Lock Unlock #12, you are welcome to participate in the discussion forum to be held the following week on Tuesday March 2 at 10 am NYC,
7 am Canada, 8:30 pm India via Zoom.

Global Nomadic Art Project South Africa 2016 -Stories of Rain
2016.9.8 – 2016.10.6
Stories of Rain traces the legacy of the first nomadic peoples of southern Africa. Local artists guide international artists through varied landscapes and world heritage rock art sites across South Africa, creating temporary nature art responses along the way. Nature art is a non-destructive ephemeral art practice that uses natural materials and structures found at a chosen site to
construct or perform a temporary artwork. Its practice engages meditative processes in preference to formal considerations, and artists will often repeat the same forms at different locations…. Continue reading→

Nature, art, cultures, people – the forgotten unity of the world
Contemporary nature art works from all corners of the world. Inspired and defined by nature, by life on and in earth, as well as by the continual and reciprocal relationship between man and his environment. This thought-provoking relationship is placed at the centre of the exhibition.
The borderlines in art history are at times bound to be vague. As culture was perceived to have come into its own… Continue reading→
